Home sweet home!

Travelling is ok but nothing beats coming home.

Ok.. so far….

Once our trip took us to northern Sweden the fun started….

Last night in our hotel meaning the day after the party I got a call at 4am. My sister called that she needed to go the emergency room cuz of her gallstone. I seemed to be in possession of the only working car. So at 4 I needed to get into the car that did not have central locks…  and no power cuz I pulled the negative lead so it would not drain the battery  on the POS. car. While crawling tru the back the hatch closes on my ankle….  not fun. The next day We had to check out of the hotel with our luggage…  no car!!!  At the last moment it all got resolved. My sister got her painkillers and we got the car back.

The next day The rest of my siblings took off towards the south and we stayed for a week…. Some things that happened in order:

I ate some bad sausages and they decided to come out real quick in the middle of the night from both ends…  this was just a day before my

my mom had to get some quick tests done in the hospital and ended up staying there just now got out after a week.

Then our plan was to take my parents camper down to Stockholm.

But it needed to be checked out by the gov. and the closest testing station was like 4 hours north from Haparanda in Gällivare!!!

Took some pics on my way there with my Dad.

The views were absolutely stunning! But the camper was CRAMPED!!!! I was dreading to drive it down for 14 Hours.

Our loong drive was a story in it self so I’ll let Barb write about that one.

Once in Stockholm/Märsta every old schoolbuddy comes out of the woodwork and I’m trying to find the time to see em’ all.

Last night we went and ate with Stefan and Mattias at the Sixth barrell..  and Medieval restaurant. (no forks, eat with your hands)

Barb had rabbit stew and pea soup. I had some ribs with sour kraut….  and so did Stefan. Mattias had some Duck! Good stuff!!!

And today it’s raining.

Sweden..

Now I can blog about this!

For a few months I could not blog about our impending trip to my parents 50th anniversary because it was to be a surprise, and it sure was!

Our trip began on tuesday afternoon, the plane was HOT!!! hot air blasting us for 9 hours! All the crew could say was…  “ yeah..  it’s a problem. Would you like some water?” If it was not the heat it was the two babies screaming…  Joy joy! And what else? Icelandair changed their seats…  video screens in every one…  nice. Arm rests that don’t go up NOT NICE!!! Dammit! next flight was running late. By the time we arrived at our destination it was 1 pm and we had not slept since the day before. Our internal time was all screwed up. Figured we would stay up and get back to a real time asap. Night came and Barb went to sleep…  I attempted, and slept for an hour. After that I woke up and was tossing and turning in bed for like 2 hours…  by 3-3:30 I got up and got online to surf online. I was surfing past sunrise…  finally by 7 am or so I went back to bed. After about two hours it was time for breakfast…….

During the day I caught a hours worth of naptime and at 10 pm it was time to get on the bus for the ride up north…  a LONG that is..  especially If you can’t sleep on busses, like neither me or Barb can. By the time we got to our final destination all we wanted was some real quiet time for some well needed sleep! We got a hotel room and finally went to bed at local time 4pm now it is like 7 am and we just got up!
