Well I got my mac and it works awsome!
Now all I need to find a good wireless keyboard.

Right now it’s -20˚F outside..  that makes it -28.9˚C.

I bought the mac online and paid for the overnight shipping… Because I wanted to play with it this weekend.

AAAARGH!!!!
The dude shipping it fucked up… he sent it ground shipping.
So the earliest it will arrive is Friday by 5pm but most likely on tuesday before end of day!!!
Dammit!!
He did refund the extra shipping $$’s but still just pisses me off!
Dammit again!

I just won an auction for a mac mini…. and with that I have gone over to the darkside.

Now all I have to do is to bump it up to 1gb of ram and upgrade the disk to a speedier one.

Ok… Kes is in heat again.. this is just nuts.

Oh.. the wake. We went to a wake tonight, it never sieses to amaze me the need for a wake. I know the history behind it…”A way to make sure the dead person is really dead and not sleeping”

Coming from northern Europe it just does not make any sense to me. I mean viewing of the dead for closest family is ok if it’s not too grusome. But parading tons of people in front of the open coffin or casket???? It’s supposed to be a kind of private time for the mourning folks and a time for friends to remeber the person who passed away, not a circus act parading the corpse in front of 100′s of people.

In other words, when I kick the bucket.. none of this wake ting for me. Creeps me out.

So, I have been selling some stuff on ebay to “finance” a new computer.. Not as my main machine right now but who knows. It’s going to be a mac mini. I know, I know… an Apple?!?! Yes, because it’s a sweet tiny machine and I want to learn more about the *nix side of things.
Don’t even think I’m going to abandon the Wintel world… no sirree. But it is always useful to broaden ones horizons.

Maybe I will one day move to a nix based OS on my main machine, but the gamingrig will always be a machine that has the most games on it and now that platform is Windows XP.

Mac OS X is after all it is based on NetBSD. And it would fit on my computer desk without me moving around any stuff.

I just need to get paid for my latest sell.. it will be full week tonight without the user paying for his won auction. In all fairness he did contact me and said he would pay with a moneyorder.

Guess I’m just antsy for it. What else? Lanparty on saturday will be fun I hope… get some gaming in.

Tomorrow thursday I’m taking a PTO!!! Woohoo!
